Direct Mail and Mailing Services Get the Job Done

Case Study

Challenge

A new wind tower was developed by our customer who was planning its first installation in a small town. They needed to win the town’s approval to install it and were seeking a way to reach out to the public and rally support at an upcoming town meeting. It was important for them to communicate the details of their project to town residents in a professional manner.

Solution

Sir Speedy developed a direct mail program that included a variable tri-fold self-mailer with a perforated business reply card. The business reply card was a critical component as it allowed the company to take the returned cards to the town meeting as physical evidence that residents supported their project. The mailer was effective at communicating the project details and answering common questions that the public had, and because it was printed on recycled stock it supported an important environmental message that the company needed to communicate about their project.

In addition to creating the direct mail program, Sir Speedy provided list acquisition, data services and mailing services for this client. A mailing list was developed from town tax records and the data was optimized to mail at the best postage rates. Sir Speedy also printed a large poster of a satellite map of the proposed tower site for display at the town meeting.

Results

Our customer received an 18% response to this mailing, which was significant enough for them to present a positive case for resident interest at the town hall meeting.
