Event Marketing Nets a Win for This Non-Profit
Challenge:
The membership director of a local non-profit association
came to us looking for ideas to help them raise money for their environmental
protection efforts. The director was planning an event that included live
auctions and she needed help getting the word out and staging the event with
signage and other displays. The event was coming up quickly and she was
overwhelmed with the level of detail needed to plan her event, so we met with
her immediately to assure her we could help.
Solution: We provided her with a complete event marketing package
that included pre‑event, at‑event and post‑event support. To promote the event,
a direct mail program was implemented that included the creation and printing
of invitations, save‑the‑date and reminder postcards, tickets, remittance
envelopes, and sponsorship thank‑you cards for a post‑event mailing. We even
helped her obtain a new, targeted mailing list of prospective supporters and
saved money on postage with our full‑service mailing experience. For at‑event
support, program booklets, auction cards, bidding forms, banners, posters,
wayfinding and other signage were designed and created to complement the event
setting. A small promotional item was gifted to each attendee to remind them of
the event. To support this organization’s environmental protection efforts,
many of the marketing pieces were printed on 100% recycled materials.
Results:
Planning
and executing events is a tough job, but we were able to help our client make
this important fund‑raising event a successful one! Attendance was better than
expected and they met their fund‑raising goal. The direct mail program was very
time sensitive and implementing it on time was crucial. And now, with the new
acquisition of additional prospective names, the organization is well poised to
stay in touch with their contacts via direct mail to encourage continued
support.
