Direct Marketing Specialist/Manager

Position Overview

Manage the day-to-day direct marketing efforts of our clients to help them grow their business.  Work alongside sales, account management and production departments to deliver effective direct marketing solutions, which result in generating qualified leads that positively impact top-line/bottom-line performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop direct marketing strategies and implement fully integrated direct response marketing programs utilizing various communications channels particularly direct mail, but including email, online, etc.
  • Create campaign strategies for our clients (both B2B and B2C) including new acquisition, cross-sell and up-sell, retention and reactivation programs
  • Manage the day-to-day campaign efforts for a variety of clients including, but not limited to: creative concepts and execution, messaging, offer development, fulfillment, list procurement and preparation, database management and results measurement
  • Leverage the power of database marketing to effectively target our client’s prospects through best practices in list segmentation (behavioral, demographic and psychographic, etc.)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for direct marketing vendors e.g. ad agencies, data management firms, list brokers or other
  • Measure and evaluate all marketing campaign performance to determine program effectiveness
  • Participate in strategy meetings & client presentations, as required
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflow efficiencies
 

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Communications, Marketing, Advertising or a related field
  • 5+ years experience in direct marketing and database marketing.  Should have hands-on experience managing campaigns from start to finish for both B2B and B2C companies.
  • Ideal candidate should have experience in conceptualizing and implementing “positive ROI” direct mail campaigns both to new and existing customers
  • High proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database management
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to implement initiatives, provide direction to cross functional teams and work with individuals at all levels of the organization – both technical and non-technical
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines, demonstrating a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion
  • Extremely proactive with a strong bias for action; desire to continuously improve campaigns and associated business practices/processes.
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills
  • Accustom to working in cross-functional teams to achieve campaign and business objectives
  • Prior experience in direct marketing and related fulfillment services a plus, but not required
  • Superior listing skills.  Someone who wants to learn about a client’s business challenge and then works with them to create and effective solution
  • Must be genuinely passionate about superior customer services and exceeding client expectations
