JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you have experience working in a production environment? Are you highly organized with good time management skills? Do you want to put your experience and skills to work for an established and respected industry leader? If so, we’re looking for hard working and motivated candidates who are focused on teamwork and customer satisfaction. If you're looking for a rewarding career in the printing industry, not just another job, then come join our Production team as a Bindery Operator! As a Bindery Operator, your primary responsibilities will be to perform/complete all finishing requirements for press and copier projects according to the job specifications and the workload schedule and maintain all bindery equipment according to scheduled maintenance recommendations.

 

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and who is determined to make every project his or her absolute best. He or she must have at least six months of experience in a production environment, and print production experience is preferred. Candidates must be able to work in an environment that includes exposure to ink and chemical fumes, airborne particles (dust, drying powder, etc.), and loud noise levels and must be able to move freely throughout the center and stand for long periods of time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs bindery function as noted on work order/job tickets, which may include folding, cutting, padding, numbering, GBC punching, spiral or coil binding, fastback, collating, scoring, perforating, drilling, stitching or stapling, laminating, and wrapping

Establishes priorities by dates on work order/job tickets and, when necessary, priorities set by management

Packages jobs, completes job tickets/work orders and delivery receipts as necessary, and places in designated areas

Keeps equipment clean, lubricated, and operable and calls for service when necessary (with approval of management)

Complies with all OSHA safety requirements

Follows systems and procedures according to the company manuals

QUALIFICATIONS

At least six months of experience in a production type workplace

Background in bindery required

Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Must be willing and able to work in an environment that includes exposure to ink and chemical fumes, airborne particles (dust, drying powder, etc.), and loud noise levels

Able to lift up to 50 pounds
